The visit itself takes in the facade, the Chapel, the courtyards and the Paraninfo, which together make up the seat of the University of Alcalá rectorate. The fare the University publishes is €6 general and €4 reduced.
There is also a proximity exemption. Residents of Alcalá de Henares visit the rectorate at no cost, on producing proof when collecting the ticket.
The Cervantes museum charges nothing at all
Admission to the Museo Casa Natal de Cervantes is free, on the terms the Comunidad publishes, and that extends to the activities and temporary exhibitions the Comunidad de Madrid stages there. There is no reduced rate because there is no rate.
It stands at Calle Mayor 48, on the pedestrian spine of the old town and a short walk from the Colegio Mayor, so both halves of the trip are done on foot.
Hours split between weekdays and weekends. Tuesday to Friday it opens 10:00 to 18:00, last entry 17:30. At weekends and on public holidays it stretches to 10:00 to 19:00, last entry 18:30.

Six euros against fourteen and nine

The gap is not only the ticket. In Alcalá the second half of the visit is free, so a day out costs €6 in total, while the other two destinations charge for the only monument on offer.
Monday cancels all three destinations
The Cervantes museum closes on Mondays, and adds five fixed dates a year: 1 and 6 January, 1 May and 24, 25 and 31 December.

Groups have their own rule, and it fails at weekends
The museum takes groups of up to 20 people with one leader, booked in advance by email and free of charge like everyone else.
Those bookings are not accepted at weekends or on public holidays. On those days entry works on a first-come basis for everyone, groups included, which inverts the usual advantage of booking ahead.
It is a different model from other Comunidad-run sites. At the Montejo beech forest places are drawn by lot and at La Pedriza the quota counts cars; here there is no cap on individual visitors at all, only a ceiling on group size.
That single Saturday 2pm English pass is Alcalá’s own condition within which Madrid villages are open and on which days, which orders all eleven.
