Eggocéntrico, at Calle de Gutiérrez Solana 6 in Chamartín, is a sit-down brunch restaurant on the doorstep of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium: about 190 metres from the stadium’s south side, a three-minute walk. It opens from 8.30am to 4pm on weekdays and 9.30am to 5pm at weekends and on public holidays, and it has an English menu. What matters on match day is the rule after closing time: if kick-off is later, the doors stay open until the match starts, with drinks and cookies. Inside the stadium it works the other way: the Market closes 2.5 hours before kick-off.
Where can I get breakfast before a Real Madrid match? At Eggocéntrico, Calle de Gutiérrez Solana 6, three minutes from the Bernabéu. It serves an egg-based brunch menu all day, has an English menu and, if kick-off is after its closing time, stays open until the match starts with drinks and cookies. Weekday lunch combos start at €13.90 with a drink.
Where can I get breakfast or brunch before the game?
If you want to eat properly before a match rather than grab a sandwich in the queue, this is the place we would pick: poached eggs on butter brioche, specialty coffee and a whole menu built around the egg. It is run by the team behind Panela & Co, with more than 15 years in Madrid’s restaurant trade. The eggs are organic, code 0, and you can buy a box of them to take home.
The match-day logic is simple:
- Afternoon or evening game at the weekend → come any time from 9.30am, eat until 5pm, stay on until kick-off.
- Midweek Champions League night at 9pm → eat between 8.30am and 4pm; from 4pm to 9pm it is drinks and cookies only.
- Stadium tour in the morning → breakfast from 8.30am on weekdays before your slot.
- Dinner right before a night game → not here, and the Bernabéu Market is shut by then too; book one of the stadium restaurants in where to eat at the Bernabéu.
What does a midweek 9pm match night look like?
European nights are where the timing helps most, because Spain eats late and the stadium food hall shuts at 6.30pm for a 9pm game. Here is a Tuesday or Wednesday with a 9pm kick-off:
If kick-off is before the usual closing time, normal hours apply. Your table booking and your match ticket are separate things: the time the stadium gates open is printed on your ticket. If you still need one, see how to get Real Madrid tickets.
What should I order?
Everything is built around the egg, so the only question is how you want it. Coffee is a house blend from a roaster in Alicante, made with fresh milk from a Madrid farm.
- Eggs Benedict, with bacon and hollandaise on brioche, or Eggs Norwegian, with smoked salmon, capers and dill, if you want the brunch classic.
- The Egg Killer, a poached egg on truffled mashed potato in a glass jar with baguette, if you want the most unusual dish on the menu.
- Eggoist Burger, Angus beef with a fried egg, cheddar and caramelised onion, if this is your main meal of the day.
- The Golden Egg Bowl, with quinoa, sweet potato, kale, hummus and feta, if you want something lighter before a long evening.
- Turkish Eggs, on lemon and garlic crème fraîche with chilli-butter toast, if you like heat.

How much will it cost?

How is brunch in Madrid different from home?
- Locals eat late. Lunch starts around 2pm, which is why a 4pm or 5pm close feels early to visitors; the local rhythm is explained in what time breakfast is in Madrid.
- Prices include VAT. Leaving a tip is optional; what people actually leave is in tipping in Madrid.
- Book or walk in. Eggocéntrico takes online bookings and seats walk-ins when there is space; on a big match day, book.
How do I get there from the centre or the airport?
Santiago Bernabéu Metro station on Line 10 is closed until the end of 2026. Use Nuevos Ministerios, served by Lines 6, 8 and 10: from its Castellana boulevard exit it is about 660 metres, a nine-minute walk. From the airport, Line 8 goes straight there, and the airport ticket supplement is covered in the airport Metro supplement. Cuzco, to the north, is 1,050 metres away. Bus S10 runs along the Paseo de la Castellana past the stadium, and the EMT allows Metro passengers to ride it free.
Good to know before you go
- It is a morning and lunchtime place. The kitchen serves until 4pm on weekdays and 5pm at weekends; for dinner before a night game, look elsewhere, and on match days it is drinks and cookies after that.
- It is a sit-down brunch. If your group wants beers and a pre-match bar atmosphere, a bar suits that better.
- It closes on 25 December, 1 January and 6 January.
It also does takeaway, catering and delivery through Uber Eats and Glovo where they cover the area. Its card with photos is in Madrid Urbana’s recommendations, and the stadium visit is covered in the Bernabéu stadium tour.
