If your children expect Santa on the 25th, Madrid works differently. In Spain the presents traditionally come from the Three Kings, on the night of 5 to 6 January, so there is no Santa’s grotto on every high street. The big Santa experience sits just outside the city at Peque Navidad, which runs two sites in the region: Brunete, about 30 minutes from Madrid, and Navacerrada, in the mountains about 45 minutes away. Santa receives families until 23 December 2026, and from the 26th the same houses switch to King Melchior.
Where can children see Santa in Madrid? At Peque Navidad, in Brunete from 6 November and in Navacerrada from 13 November 2026, until 23 December. Each visit is a two-hour slot with a family meeting with Santa and four activities, and tickets cost 18 to 25 euros. Peque Navidad sells online only and has no ticket desk.
Is the Peque Navidad Santa visit worth the trip?
For young children who still believe, yes. The visit is a timed slot of two hours in small groups: the family meets Santa together, then moves through four activities such as a post office, biscuit decorating with Mrs Claus and a toy workshop. Children must stay with an adult throughout.
It is not a quick photo stop, though. Both sites are outside the city, so it takes half a day, and it suits a family staying a few days more than a weekend visitor with a packed museum list.
Brunete or Navacerrada?
Brunete is closer and opens a week earlier, at the Granja Escuela Albitana. Navacerrada, at the Finca Los Almorchones on the M-607 road, has more weekday dates in November, Monday to Thursday afternoons from 18 euros, and a mountain setting that is colder in December, so pack hats and gloves. Neither site is on the Metro, so plan on a car or a taxi, and keep your phone and bags safe in the car park as anywhere busy.
What does it cost, and which slot should you book?
December weekdays cost 20 to 22 euros. Weekend and holiday slots run at 10:00, 12:15, 16:00 and 18:15; on weekdays only the two afternoon slots run.
The 4 to 8 December long weekend is the dearest at 25 euros, as the calendar in Madrid’s December long weekend shows. An adult meal costs 16 euros on the day or 14 if bought with the ticket; lunch is served late in Spain, from about 14:00, so the 12:15 slot runs into lunchtime.
The cancellation policy is strict: the only refunds are if the organiser cancels or you bought the 2-euro cancellation cover. With small children and a fixed travel date, it is worth adding.
What about the Three Kings?
The night Spanish children wait for is 5 January, with the Three Kings parade through the centre, whose route the Ayuntamiento publishes each year. To hand a letter to a royal page, see where to give a letter to the Three Kings. Peque Navidad itself has King Melchior from 26 to 30 December and 2 to 5 January, at 24 euros.

Santa Claus in Madrid FAQ
Is there a Santa’s grotto in Madrid?
Not in the city centre in the British sense. The main Santa’s house is Peque Navidad, with sites in Brunete, about 30 minutes from Madrid, and Navacerrada, about 45 minutes away, open from November to 23 December 2026.
Do Spanish children get presents from Santa or the Three Kings?
Traditionally from the Three Kings, on the night of 5 to 6 January, after the parade on the evening of the 5th. Many Madrid families now do both, which is why Santa’s houses switch to a Three Kings visit after Christmas.
How much does it cost to see Santa at Peque Navidad?
From 18 to 25 euros a ticket depending on the day. Weekday slots in November start at 18 euros in Navacerrada, weekends at 23 euros, and the 4 to 8 December long weekend costs 25 euros. Cancellation cover is 2 euros extra.
