Which areas carry their own rules
Not every street in Madrid can grow its nightlife, and there is a map that decides it.
The four acoustic protection zones sit in the Centro district, in AZCA and Avenida de Brasil in Tetuán, and two in Chamberí, covering Gaztambide and Trafalgar with Ríos Rosas. Inside them a new nightlife venue must keep 100 metres from existing ones where noise is highest, 75 in the middle band and 30 in the lowest, in Madrid noise protection zones.
That does not close what is already open: it limits what may open. New venues therefore drift towards the edges of the saturated areas, an effect clearest in Centro and Chamberí, in the Chamberí district guide.
Closing time is not leaving time
This is the misunderstanding that produces most arguments at the door, and it comes from merging two separate periods.
Closing time ends service. A clearing period then begins, half an hour long, or three quarters of an hour in venues whose authorised capacity reaches three hundred. They run one after the other, under the same 2022 order that sets the hours themselves.

The names everyone uses do not match the street register, which matters when ordering a car.
